E-bikes play a great role in the boom of cycling in general and Cycling Tourism in particular. Only in Germany, 42% of cycle tourists were using E-bikes in 2021, 10% more than in 2020. E-bikes are a great opportunity! They increase the number of potential users, they open access to the most challenging territories such as mountainous regions for those who would not consider it otherwise, and they enable groups with different capacities to cycle together. How does it impact destinations and cycling tourism products? Are the needs of E-bike users different from other cycling tourists? Join this session to learn more about E-bikes, cycling tourism and the most recent trends on the topic!
Starting at 5pm on Wednesday, 8 March at Green Stage, Hall 3.1
Mira Poling Anselmi, Vice President, Community, ATTA will be shedding light on key insights from the adventure and outdoor travel industry with the ATTA’s latest responsible traveler trends and sustainable event reports.
First, featuring a lively panel discussion between destination representatives, hear practical examples and good practices of working within local communities to progress sustainability and net zero strategies.
Then, ATTA’s CEO Shannon Stowell will lead a lively panel discussion featuring an international tour operator, recognized media and digital solutions representatives who also play vital roles in destinations’ sustainability successes. Learn how they contribute to the big picture, what expectations they have as consumer liaisons and how everyone from local suppliers to destination managers can prepare for changing market expectations and enable sustainability by default to the next wave of adventure travelers.
ATTA believes adventure is for everybody—anyone, at any age, with any ability—and that it means something different to every traveler.
For some, it may be a walking food tour with a local chef in Latin America. For others, it might be a short hike in a new city close to home or a long-distance trek on the other side of the world. Some call themselves adventurers, and others don’t.
The way we see it, an adventure is an experience that involves the combination of nature, culture, and physical activity.
